The historic Larder House was constructed in the late 1850s and stands as a monument to the once thriving German community that flourished in the City of Santa Clara throughout the 19th century. When a University building expansion put the Larder House in danger of being demolished, SCU commissioned Brodie to manage the relocation and full scale refurbishment of the historic structure. Seeking to maintain the architectural and historical integrity of this site, Brodie managed this uniquely precise relocation and renovation effort. Brodie managed the design, entitlement, permitting, exterior renovation, and interior remodel of the Larder House to serve as an anthropological laboratory facility.
